ここにいるよ Koko Ni Iruyo by Soulja (English translation)

Since the last posting I have found out more about this song. The song was released in October and it was in the top 10 of Oricon charts. It went off the top 20 charts after the week of November 12 week. I’ve translated the lyrics into English. Here is the romanization. Video at youtube here .

The Vast Ocean by Jaywalk (English lyrics, Japanese, Chinese, romanization)

For a lot of Asian artists, they usually do a lot of covers of Japanese songs and they become popular as a result.  This therefore is quite a surprise to see a Japanese group do a cover of a Chinese song.  Jaywalk’s Taiwan producer suggested that they do some Chinese songs since one of the member has been earnestly learning Mandarin and so they produced an album of just Chinese songs with Japanese lyrics.  This song, The Vast Ocean, was originally sung by Tom Zhang from Taiwan and he passed away in 1997.  You could hear the original here and it’s nowhere as powerful as the lead from Jaywalk.  Plus if you compare the lyrics, the Japanese song has much more imagery and the singer delivers the song so much more emotionally.  Wow!  My hats off to seasoned Japanese singers.  Watch the video here with Japanese and Chinese subs or here on youtube.  I’ve translated it for you all here.  This song was performed by the old Jaywalk with five members who write and compose their own songs.  Now there are seven new members to the new Jaywalk and here’s the new Jaywalk’s official youtube channel.  Edit:  I like this song so much I’ve added the romanizations so you could all sing along too.
