Some Zentangles and some animals

I bought the book Zen Doodle and did some pen doodles.  Some I added Daniel Smith watercolor and some I didn’t.  Most of the time, I wished I hadn’t added watercolor because it looks so messy.  Done with my range of Hero and Lamy and Pilot fountain pens.

These few are following the book.

These are my own.  This one has FW sepia acrylic ink dipped with pencil because I was too lazy to go get my dip pen.  The rest is pen work and Prismacolor sepia pencil.

Testing out Pilot 78G fountain pen

I finally had to buy some new fountain pens because my Parker 21 had a bent nib, the Lamy keeps drying up with the converter and it skips for some reason.  So bought some of these Japanese ones from Hong Kong but they are made in Japan.  The fine nib one, I put the Pilot/Namiki cartridge in.  The medium and broad nib ones, I put Pen And Write Waterproof fountain pen ink in and they flow well and very smooth.  I really enjoy the body being so light and I chose red bodies.  Here are a bunch of sketches using these three pens plus Prismacolor pencils.

At Church

I really try hard not to fall asleep at church but sometimes I just couldn’t help it.  I’m not 100% myself.  But I do enjoy worship section when our church worship team leads in old songs and new songs all with mysterious intros and you could never tell which songs they were going to sing.  This song, Living for Your Glory by Tim Hughes, got the whole church praising energetically.  The hand pumping from the adjacent aisle, the lifted hands and the full throttle of voices all caught my attention.  My town is very white and if I were still in the Bay Area, I would be furiously jotting down everyone’s expressions rather than listening to the sermon or singing along.
