Some cartoon animals

Finally, I allowed myself some free time from bible study to draw some.  I meant to practice some serious pen work but ended up doing cartoon animals.  Oh well.

Travis, my dog model for the day

I had a wonderful day today visiting a friend and her dog stayed so still for me to paint and sketch.  The first two pages are on Stillman & Birn Alpha 5.5 x 8.5 inch hardbound journal 100 lb.

The next two are Chinese brush and bamboo pen and ground ink on a crumpled homemade packaging paper pad.

These are on a homemade packaging paper pad.

This one is on the same pad but using W&N water mixable oil paint. I’m enjoying this medium even more when I use it like watercolor and yet it has the opacity that I want.

Same paint but done on a small 3×5 inch Strathmore All Media Journal. The more I use this journal the more I like it.

And finally a large 11×14 inch canvas board oil paint. I rarely do oil paint. Background was acrylic from a couple months ago.

And this is my friend in Portfolio watersoluble oil pastel.
